Behind the Scenes – NYC Shooting

We met up with Jannik (a photographer from Munich) and our model Tina right in the heart of SoHo. Tina got into her first outfit at her apartment and we kicked things off immediately. For late March, we were incredibly lucky with the weather – blue skies, sunshine, and mild temperatures.

Shooting in SoHo wasn’t exactly easy though: it was early, traffic was heavy, trucks everywhere. On top of that, we were dragging around heavy suitcases full of jackets and equipment – not the easiest in the middle of Manhattan. But the morning light, the blue sky, and those charming buildings made up for it – the setting was just perfect.

We had to change outfits several times in cafés (always buying something, of course, because restrooms were for customers only). It worked out well, even if we were running on a bit too much caffeine by the end of the day.

Lunch? A classic NYC burger – what else. Then back to shooting. At one point we asked a FedEx driver if we could shoot inside his truck. He said no. So we asked two more. Still no. The fourth one finally said yes – and we got some really cool shots in there. Persistence pays off.

New York, you’ve got style. We’ll be back.
